"Mr. Gruner performed a large interior remodel to our Kentfield home in 2009: a master bedroom suite, office , master bath, upgrade kitchen and restoration of large amounts of Mahogany flooring. Our remodel was high end and custom requiring engineering on some of our interior load bearing walls.
Because the job required extensive engineering, as well as extensive restoration work, we agreed on a time and materials contract. We liked the flexibility of the time and materials contract because it allowed us to make changes to the plans as needed without having to stop and wait for the contractor to provide us an estimate for the new work. In my opinion, a time and materials contract should be used if you are looking for high quality work from a contractor.
Mr. Gruner, working with our architect, was able to articulate the most efficient construction solutions to our dsigner. Most importantly, Mr. Gruner was able to interpret and perform the construction exactly as our designer had drawn it.
We lived in the house during construction, which can be stressful for the client as well as the contractor. Mr. Gruner made the construction process as comfortable as possible for us, using high quality and courteous craftsmen. He runs a very neat job site, keeping his client up to date on his schedule. There were no surprises. How good is Mr. Gruner? We love the finished product. He, in partnership with our designer, was able to transform our design ideas into reality.
